Born and brought up in a traditional Bengali Muslim family, Abdur has been a devoted follower of the traditional teachings and rituals of Islam since his very childhood. However, when he went to college, he came into close contact with a versatile spiritual teacher Shah Aksaruddin Ahmad and underwent a paradigm change in his religious approach. He has authored Rediscovering Genuine Islam: The Case for a Quran-Only Understanding published by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform in 2014, which represents a third slimmer and more improved  version of two earlier editions. The earlier editions are Exploring Islam in a New Light: A View from the Quranic Perspective published by Brainbow Press in 2010 and Exploring Islam in a New Light: An Understanding from the Quranic Perspective published by IUniverse in 2008. He has written many articles on Islamic topics, some of which have appeared on World Religion News, Aslan Media, and Oped News, and include one presented at the 42nd North American Association of Islamic and Muslim Studies (NAAIMS) Conference organized by, and held at, Princeton University on September 28, 2013 (available at http://naaims.org/uploads/Abdur_Rab_-_42FP.pdf). 1. I have read your article on How ShaRIA VICTIMIZEs WOMEN and I very much agree with you. You have explained it in such a simple manner and has made the ayat so easy to understand, by the will of God. I have just started reading your articles and will be following more of your articles inshaAllah. I stay in india. I have attended a lot of iztemas here, but always was unsatiesfied because in every iztema only hadees is taught, nothing of the Quran.
